
Dr. Robert Durón
Executive Leader for Member Support – TASBDr. Robert Duron is the Associate Executive Director of Governance Services for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). TASB’s Governance Service division provides training, consulting services, productivity tools, research, and direct support to school districts and school board members on governance, human resources, legal, policy, executive search, and parent involvement topics.
Dr. Duron also has 32 years of public education experience. He served as superintendent of the San Antonio Independent School District where he led this 55,000-student district for more than five years. Prior to working in San Antonio ISD, Duron served as superintendent of Socorro ISD in El Paso. He was an assistant superintendent in Clear Creek ISD in League City for six years and has also worked as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal in various districts across the state.
Following his public school service, he served as Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration for the Texas Education Agency. Duron has two children and is married to Dr. Jodi Duron, a career educator who is serving in her third year as superintendent of schools for the Elgin Independent School District.
