The Latino Leadership Leverage (L3) Program
TALAS is the premier organization that advocates for the growth and advancement of Latino learners and leaders. With an unrelenting commitment to improving learning outcomes for Latino learners, TALAS provides leadership development, collective impact, advocacy, and a proactive voice for Latino and non-Latino leaders passionate about serving the fastest-growing student population in Texas.
Leadership development is one of the four TALAS pillars. The leadership development program is a two-year commitment. The first year is comprised of sixteen leadership modules/experiences led by Dr. Miranda Walichowski, Founder & Human Architect, Human Architects, LLC, interaction with TALAS Board Members, and participation in three leadership conferences. In the second year, the participants are mentored by a highly experienced superintendent or executive leader, overseen by Dr. Rick Fernandez, TALAS Director of Leadership Development.
Application Process
Timeline
- Information about the new cohort goes out in the newsletter beginning in February.
- The application window opens on March 1 and closes on Sunday, April 6.
- Applicants are notified about their status by May 10, 2025.
- The new cohort is announced at the Annual TALAS Leadership Summit
Selection Process
- Preference is given to applicants in central office positions first followed by campus administrators.
- Applications are screened by Dr. Walichowski, Dr. Rick Fernandez, Leadership Program Director, and a three-person committee from the TALAS Board of Directors
